I was so hopeless for this Exam, it was on my mind at first that i cannot pass this, so i went to the forums and posted a topic on people who had took the exam, for them to share their study guides and knowledge on how hard is it.
Luckily, someone emailed me and she said, she is also a filipina who had passed the exam last year. I was so happy knowing someone that will gonna help me, She gave me inspirations and advices to be able to pass the Exam. She told me that exam is not as hard as what i am thinking, and She was right! Most of all, she gave me Study guides on what i have to study most. Thanks a bunch Ate Che! I owe you a lot.

Basisexamen Inburgering

Basisexamen Inburgering or Civic Integration Exam is a language and society exam for people who are planning to stay and live for good in Netherlands. People who are applying for MVV should take this exam. This rule was effective last March of 2006. People who are 16-65 years old should complete and pass the said exam in the country of residence. The examination is given orally by a computer system at the Royal Dutch Embassy and you have to pay 350 Euros.

I had took the exam last December 2007 in Royal Netherlands Emabassy in Makati, Philippines.. With the help of my hubby on teaching me dutch and my will to be able to pass the said Exam, I did it! I was so happy that time.

The night before i took the exam, i was crying, because i was so afraid that i may fail in the exam. I can't take that people who are believing on me will be sad if i won't pass it; but luckily..hehe i did it.
Eric was so proud, so as my parents and his parents and family.
Ill gonna share my study guides on my next post.

Tourist Visa Application

When we had the Marriage Contract from NSO, we decided to apply for the Tourist Visa first.
We decided to apply if first because I still have to study on the Civic Examination before i can apply for the spousal Visa.

It is hard for the first month of our marriage to be away in each other. A normal Marriage should be together, but we have to be strong. We have the full trust and love in each other, so we believe in each other's capacity.

Upon applying for the visa, you need the following Requirements:

Tourist Visa

  3. International passport with a validity of at least 3 months after the scheduled return
  4. Proof of insurance for the whole period of travel against costs for medical treatment and or repatriation covering up to at least an amount of EUR 30.000 and valid for all countries in the Schengen area

After having everything in order, I went to Cebu Netherlands Consulate, and applied my Tourist Visa there.

Waited for more than a month for the Result.. and I was Denied. The Reason was.. They believed that i won't return to Philippines after 3 months. It was so Frustrating. Eric is my Husband that time, and i should have the approval. Its their decision and we can appeal to it, but we decided not to appeal. It will be a longer process again.

next is the study for the Civic Exam.

Authenticated Marriage Contract

A week after the Wedding.. Me and my Hubby went to the City Registral Office to ask on how many days we have to wait after getting the authenticated one. They told me, they have the Marriage contract already, but they will still pass it to National Statistics Office (CDO branch) to be Authenticated. It will take us 20 Working days.

Goverment offices really works slow, we have to wait for days and days to fix just a piece of paper! We can't force them to work fast nor fight with them because we are the one needing their assistance and services.. Maybe thats why they are working slow.. some needs under the table payments.. huh.. but thats Life, we have to follow them and WAIT!!

January 26, 2007.. At last we have the Authenticated Marriage Contract from NSO..
